Google and Bing are having war in search engines , Google will now tackle apple and windows in OS [ Operating System ] and since Google launched jackass facebook kinda spoof lite version integrated inside Gmail - Google Buzz , again Google is planning new facebook killer - GoogleMe !

GoogleMe is not official announcement from google team but this rumour is rocking the internet on fire . Right now addicted netizens as well as beginners know only of the hardcore two giants - Facebook and Google and now when google launched buzz , it failed miserably but still its still one of the bookmarking kinda service and many widgets are usually seen in 3 - 4 blogs :)
Orkut was the one of first free social service that was widely used but since after people tested facebook many of them ditched orkut ! And now there’s a big news that Google will attempt to pull the ground from under Facebook’s feet, by launching a new social networking service of its own possibly mixing and creating a hybrid of orkut , google profiles and of course google buzz added with much more features to crush facebook if rumour is true .

This rumour was tweeted by Digg founder, Kevin Rose, who who’d heard the name of the upcoming “Facebook-killer” would be “Google Me”.

Facebook sticks to social networking and google is waving hands towards Gmail, Docs, Maps, Calendar , OS , and many other stuff . This move of google shows that google is more higher than facebook and have huge potential if it integrates all of its services under a common social netwok which facebook does not provide .
Can it be a Facebook killer? First of all , is this rumor real ?

This works in XP

But If you are using Windows Vista, you need to enable Telnet to watch the movie.
Go to Start/Run, type appwiz.cpl
It will open the Add/remove programs window.
Click turn windows features on and off on the side panel then check mark Telnet Client and click OK.

Since April, Twitter had announced Promoted Tweets - Twitter's new system to make money online .This was twitter's first business ad revenue model , and that was supposed to be in search results .However may be it didnt turned big or for any other reason the second phase of twitter's revenue model started - Promoted Trending Topics.

Install CLamAV Antivirus for Ubuntu

There are only 3 reasons according to me why people switch to linux based operating systems 1] They are Free 2] Cool applications and loads of free updates 3] Virus Free . And many people assume that there is neither virus nor antivirus for Linux based distros especially ubuntu which is most popular . However there is an antivirus for it Clam AntiVirus or mostly called CLamAV

There are actually no real viruses or malwares on a Linux OS but there ~~can be~~ still are many many amazing varieties of Bugs !

About Clam :

AntiVirus (ClamAV) is a free, cross-platform antivirus software tool-kit capable of detecting many types of malicious software, including viruses being mostly useful on mail servers as a server-side email virus scanner. The application was developed for Unix and has third party versions available for AIX, BSD, HP-UX, Linux, Mac OS X, OpenVMS, OSF and Solaris.

Why is it useful ?
Installing an anti- virus program allows you to watch out for Windows or even Mac viruses in files sent to you. Therefore, you can avoid passing on virus-infected files that might affect those running non-Linux operating systems. ANd thats why it is better to use in Linux against Windows or Mac OS so that , the virus does not spread as you are not logging from affected OS [WIndows / Mac ] .
Besides it is free and one of the widely supported open source projects , so its a big deal to try it :)

How to Install ?

Start Synaptic [ From Systems >> Administration ] and search for clamtk. Now check alongside the clamtk entry in the results
Click Mark for Installation in the menu that appears.
Agree to install the list of dependencies, that includes ClamAV itself, and then click the APPLY button on the toolbar.
When ClamTK is run for the first time it’s necessary to update the virus
database. In future this will be done automatically and periodically in
the background, without any need for user intervention.

To manually update the database, ClamTK needs to run as root user, so
open a terminal window (Applications > Accessories > Terminal), and
type the following:
gksu clamtk
Click Help > Update Signatures. Once ClamTK reports the signatures
are up to date, close the program window.

Scanning viruses / Malwares
     To start ClamTK, click Applications > System Tools > Virus Scanner.
Note that ClamAV is unable to remove any virus infections found in a file [ It just checks whether the filw is infected or not ].
Its only the user [ You ! ] who decides what to do with the file !
Deleting the file is best !

For Windows user : ClamAV [As of version 0.96 ] runs on Windows.
Both ClamAV and its updates are made available free of charge.
For Mac OS X user : Apple Mac OS X Server has included ClamAV since version 10.4. It is used within the operating system's email service. A graphical user interface is available in the form of ClamXav

                     This works best if you have two hard disks - one of linux and other of windows / mac and you have logging problem or your computer freezes every-time and you cant launch antivirus ! Even i did same when i had ubuntu and corrupted XP and was able to swap most of the viruses with great help of Clam . Free , safe and open source what else is better than this ?

If you are Pro unix user then i hope you should have tried Ubuntu's latest distro Lucid lynx 10.04 . Even if you are using Jaunty version of Ubuntu you can update to 10.04 . And now the hot news !
The Ubuntu developers have released another update to ubuntu 10.04 making it 10.10 - The Maverick Meerkat Alpha 1 which is the first alpha release of Ubuntu .
How to Upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to 10.10 alpha ?

Press Alt+F2 and type in "update-manager -d" In the command box.
Update Manager should open up and display:

New distribution release '10.10' is available.

Click Upgrade .

For a server system :

Install the update-manager-core package if it is not already installed; edit /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades and set Prompt=normal;
Launch the upgrade tool with the command sudo do-release-upgrade -d;
And follow the on-screen instructions.

Also are other features like mail-integration by which one can view all the mails in all the accounts at one place and then there is the support for Bluetooth keyboard with the phone.

For checking mails on iPhone , users just need one integrated inboxand can easily open an email attachment using third-party applications. IOS platform will also support customizations making iTunes playlists, tap-to-focus video, the camera’s zoom function of up to five times, and features photo named ‘Faces and Places’.

You must be knowing and i presume having multiple email addresses like gmail , googlemail from google Similarly Ymail , yahoo and rocketmail from yahoo . Also live and hotmail from Microsoft but have you heard ending with msn.com ?
You can now also create email address like yourname@msn.com !
The default windows live sign up page allows everyone to create free email addresses ending with either live.com or hotmail.com .
Live was once a search engine which is now redirected to Bing !
Hotmail is an email service provider acquired by Microsoft long back ago .
MSN stand for Micro Soft network and so you can now create your own email id for free using this trick !
However for this you cant go to default homepage of hotmail as msn.com addresses cannot be used to sign up directly .
To get your msn.com email address go to this link and sign up .
However once you create tour email id , you can still use the default homepage for Hotmail to sign in to your account.

It is very easy and this hack will certainly help you :

The answer is both Yes and No !

First of all , reason for answer No :

It is not possible to change your username in gmail. The username is chosen at the time the account is created and is the permanent identifier of the account . But if you need to use a different username, it is possible. You simply need to create a new account and move your content over from the old account. For that :
Create a new account
Sign in to new account you just created and Hit the Settings link and then Accounts and Import tab.
You need to use POP3 entry. Enter the following configuration:
Username: Your old gmail email address
Password: Password for your old gmail account
POP server: pop.gmail.com
Port: 995
Always use secure connection: check
Label incoming messages: check
This will make sure all of your old mails along with recent ones continue to land upon your new email id . You can follow the instructions

Remember that if you delete an account, you can never get it back or reuse the address.

Now , the hope for answer Yes :

If you have email id like tom@gmail and if you want to merge your surname say Clinton !

Then tell all your friends to email you @ tom+clinton@gmail but not vice versa !

Similarly you can go on like tom+clinton+is+my+name@gmail.com thus , any name you enter after your existing unchangeable gmail email id your mail will be sent on your inbox !

And if you have made tomclinton@gmail.com and want to make name and surname separate then you can go tom.clinton@gmail.com . Mail will appear in your inbox but not like plus sign where you can go tom.clinton.is.my.nam@gmail ! This wont work in this case and works only for plus symbol !

This is Because Gmail doesn't recognize dots as characters within usernames, adding or removing dots from a Gmail address won't change the actual destination address. Messages sent to yourusername@gmail.com and y.o.u.r.u.s.e.r.n.a.m.e@gmail.com are all delivered to your Inbox, and only yours.

This button is most probably on right corner of your keyboard , adjacent to scroll lock .

Open-source is the keyword of web 2.0 and Linux is one of the greatest landscape in terms of OS . Many users are switching from native windows to linux based OS like ubuntu , fedora , RedHat etc . The stats are constantly changing and has a strong community of both developers and users.
Here are some of the info-graphics that show the popularity of Linux distributions across the world !

On a global level, Linux seems to be the strongest in India followed by Cuba and then Russia , followed by the Czech Republic and Indonesia . The first Western country when looking at regional popularity is Germany which is the 10th country in regards to search popularity for Linux .

All are otherwise free and can be downloaded easily with loads of mirrors and torrent links available !
In general, Linux is powerful and stronger in the East than in the West, mostly due to freeware as well as due to most people showing interest in open-source which is shamefully weak in the west countries ! This is naturally because Windows and Apple dominate there on a large scale leaving no room for Linux

Update Ubuntu Karmic to Lucid

Lucid Lynx is the latest distro of ubuntu - one of the finest and user friendly Linux OS . This open source OS is packed with plenty of cool Features and off course promises. Currently 9.1 [ beta ]version of karmic koala was made available before 9.04 [ stable ] Karmic Koala . Upgrading your Karmic Koala 9.04 or 9.1 or any of your old Linux Ubuntu version like Jaunty Jackalope 8.04 and previous versions to Lucid Lynx 10.04 [ LTS ] is very easy .
Method 1. If you have internet [ Fast ! ]

Start the Update Manager (System > Administration > Update Manager)
Now you should be able to see that a new distribution release (10.04 LTS) is available in the Update Manager.
Click the Upgrade button to start the distribution upgrade

Method 2. If you have no internet [ Slow internet ! ]

You need an Offline Upgrade .
This method is much faster as it just needs an ISO image to upgrade from HERE.
Once you download this Image Mount the image

In terminal , type sudo mount -o loop /path-to-iso/ubuntu-10.04-alternate-i386.iso /media/cdrom0

When success, a pop up should appear offering you the option to upgrade using that CD / ISO image.
If for some reason the upgrade dialog doesn’t pop-up,

press ALT + F2 and type:

gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade"

And still you are unable to get ISO , then you better buy a CD , or request free CD delivered to your home free where-ever you live , and that too without any courier or shipping charges !
Just insert the fresh CD , and you will see popup that , a new version is detected , and should it proceed to update , click yes and you are done !

Easily Sync iPhone Bookmarks

Apple's iPhone could only integrate and sync with safari and didn't have the feature to integrate Bookmark sync with popular browsers like Firefox, Chrome [ They Forgot or deliberately didn't provide ] . It was getting pretty hard for iPhone users to share favorite links and now its very easily possible !
For IE and Safari :

All you get is the Sync option for Safari/Internet Explorer.

Firefox :
Download and install Xmarks Ad-don from here .
Configure the plugin by signing-up for an account (if you are new to xmarks)

Login with your existing account.
Fill in the required fields and wizard will guide you through it.
Sync will execute and backup of all your contacts will be placed on Xmark’s server.
If you are an existing user, Better merge bookmarks than overwriting them as this will save time and overcome confusion .
Now install the Xmark in IE from here or Safari from here. Follow the same procedure to sync your account. After a successful sync, all your browsers have the same Bookmarks, synced on every change or periodically.
Sync your iPhone using iTunes while selecting the browser you chose in , under the “info” iPhone tab.

Now its the TV platform google plans to enter and for this Google has partnered with Intel and Sony to create Google TV - a TV platform powered by Android. Google plans to develop custom interactive interface dubbed Dragonpoint based on Android and it would be like an operating system within itself .
The partners envision technology that will make it as easy for TV users to navigate Web applications, like the Twitter social network and the Picasa photo site, as it is to change the channel. Google intends to open the Google TV platform, which is based on its Android operating system for cellphones, to software developers in the hopes of spurring the same creativity that the consumers have seen in phone apps.
Google already sells TV advertising and there are many Google apps that could improve the TV experience. New York Times says that Google's software will include a new interface for YouTube, a browser and other Android apps that will extend the functionality.
The Google TV Project that involves Intel, Sony and Logitech is due to arrive next month and will surely be killer and will be heavily marketed more than apple's iPad .

Sony officially reported to stop production and sales of the ancient storage medium - Floppy Disks till March 2011 .The 3.5-inch floppy was a rage in ancient days when the world hadn't seen CDs and DVDs . It was still pretty useful after the world came to know about it and was one of the necessary component for storing and transferring files between personal computers .

Sony pioneered the 3.5-inch floppy disk in 1981, eventually replacing the 5.25-inch floppy disk that had previously been the popular storage format. However, as the size of files and programs grew, the floppy disk was pushed aside by inexpensive and larger-format storage medium. With the outrage of portable storage devices like such as CDs, DVDs and USB drives, Sony saw its sales of floppies decline from a record 47 million disks in fiscal 2002 to 12 million in fiscal 2009.

Sony's decision to end 3.5-inch disk production is just another signal that local storage media and platforms cannot be trusted with your precious data.

Its now a Time to take the task of managing storage platforms out of the hands of consumers and individual businesses and for everyone to consider cloud-based options seriously for now it means that the future PC would have no floppy drives ! Better we be switch to cloud computing and store anything and everything on internet as its much smarter than storing on eventually-to-be-obsolete media, which is akin to putting your memories in a lock box and throwing away the key perhaps in near future there could be another post with floppy disks replaced by CD's !

The computer was only for Mathematical use [the time it was invented ] and was more like calculator unless it was completely replaced by calci and computer was replaced by PC [ Personal computer ] .The computer was now personal and soon there was a new growth of laptops and from data from most of the sources laptops are surely replacing PC's and now recently with the topic like 'Tablets' like the iPad from Apple , it may try to steal the position occupied by Lappy .
However here are the reason it wont replace Laptops :

No camera : Apple fans were expecting both front facing as well as back facing camera however there neither of those !
No Video Output : No point in plugging iPad in your TV or any portable device !Network Problem : It sucks! Apple is sticking with AT&T , however they could have gone with T-Mobile, or Verizon .
No USB port : First latest device without a USB port ! difficult for pen-drives and other plugs to transfer the data .
Worst Capacity : The storage limitation is pretty weird and looks like it updated smartphone with big size instead of advanced laptop with damn sucking storage capacity ! Starting at 16GB, this is lame .
No Flash : There's some enemity with adobe and apple we just guess ! No Flash on the iPhone was barely tolerable. On a device that you call Internet-specific to not have Flash is more than annoying, it’s insulting. Flash, love it or hate it, is one huge slice of the Internet. This is not optional and thus more than half of websites operate on flash and how can you forget about widgets and cool funny Flash games ?
No multitasking : During his presentation of the iPad, Steve Jobs called netbook cheap laptops. Not having multitasking on the iPad really sucks and laptops are preferable !

Microsoft have made entry to special social-media enabled feature phones which are KIN phones targeted at the 15-30 year age range. Whats more cool is that they have even made Zune integration . There are two KINs for this Microsoft KIN project the Kin ONE and Kin TWO and these were known as Turtle and Pure earlier. Both of em have slideout keyboards, with the ONE being vertical and the TWO being horizontal.
           The Microsoft Kin ONE is the lower-end device, with a 5 megapixel camera on it, while the Kin TWO has an 8 megapixel camera and the ability to record 720p video.The home screen of the phone is called the Kin Loop, which is always up to date and always on, showing all the things happening in someone’s social world. Kin automatically brings together feeds from leading Microsoft and third-party services such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter all in one place, making it easier to stay connected. Customers can also select their favorite people, and Kin will automatically prioritize their status updates, messages, feeds and photos.

                   Unexpectedly that’s what happened this time. Just two days later the page ranks are updated all the blogs and websites can now see the changes in their page rank.
It’s immense pleasure to let you know that QwertyWEB now has page rank 4 now from earlier page rank 3.
I was surely expecting update at this time because google updates pagerank after fixed duration and this time , it has taken a lot of time ! If still there is confusion about what exactly it is and how it helps , here is the recommended reading . Page rank still do cares a lot and some blogges who still fail to get descent page rank according to their age of blog hates it LOL
             For any blog post common between and good page rank source compared to less than descent page rank , search engines always give preference to Page rank .              Technorati indexes more the 100 million blogs in blogosphere and is one of the great measurable tool to see how is your blog progressing . And thereby many bloggers can be seen adding blogs in technorati after claiming so thta it will also be getting indexed quickly .Some bloggers as they say seem to be getting huge traffic from technorati and also get a chance to be getting closer to top 100 blogs in the world. For some strange reason, Technorati has not incorporated a delete function in Technorati accounts which sucks a big deal.
Let me tell you my tale :
           First of all i made a technorati account with username A and then claimed this blog , later i wanted to change my userid and tried to edit but i got to know that once you created an id , you cant edit it . So what i did was that first i unclaimed this blog and then created another desired technorati id B and then claimed this blog .
But to my surprise technorati did not unclaim my blog with user id A .
So now it keeps on displaying 2 authors for this blog
When i had my A id , i had authority 4 but now it shows just 1 and its completely crap .
Even they have made my location USA without me choosing any , also when i edit my blog by adding tags and save it , it just refuses to get saved and i think my account has been tricked !
My blog even is not indexed by technorati and cannot be found in search results
I have filled form to contact them , 3 to 4 times , but no reply
Even there is no link to delete account like in google or friendfeed or facebook which is very worst case and seems to be getting complicated and people should think before registering technorati .
           Whenever a blog links at you, they will increase your authority which means your ranking is been improved in blogosphere. Apart from being featured in top 100 blogs you will be getting massive subscribers and unique traffic as technorati is been accepted globally in blog ranking. Deleting Blogger Blogspot Blog

Most of beginners know how to create a blog and write a post and make it running but it may be surely become an occasion in the future if you want to delete a blog in frustration or just for time pass LOL . So read this post in case the day comes and you need to know what you do and how to do !

Navigate to Settings then Basic
If you think you may want to come back to your blog at a later date you can use the export tool to export your blog before you delete it. To export your blog click on Export Blog in the Blog Tools menu. If you aren't interested in exporting a copy of your blog to your home computer skip this step .
Under the first heading Blog Tools click on the Delete Blog link
You will be taken to the Delete Blog screen in Blogger.
A warning message will be displaying .

Deleted blogs can be restored within 90 days before they are removed forever. You can create another blog at this address using the Google Account you're currently logged in with.
Before you delete your blog, do you want to export it?

If you made up your mind and are now in full conscious state mind , then proceed with the deletion and click on the Delete This Blog button

Wow ,you all must not be knowing this but this is what i found out while googling . If you dont see this image clearly , open it in new tab for better Quality . Its a face that google have the limit for searching web based on the number of words entered for searching .
You can also read how google shows option to search for any result through other search engines like yahoo, Bing , Wikipedia and many more ! even thought there are search results in google . This is some weird to hear as why does google wants to suggest user to search other search engines LOL .Similarly i didn't know and i am sure that ~~most~~ all of you dont know that google has maximum word limit 32 !
If you know then , you are top googler :D
Well , even if you enter more words , results are shown but , some not so keywords like "for" are not considered by Google Bot and you wil definitely get results not containing "for"

There are many such unknown facts of Google , and many of them are left to be searched for , Do you know some of em ?
